Webinar: Implementing Cancer Prevention and Screening In General Practice

Tue 20th June 2023 @ 7:00 pm

Sydney North Health Network invites GPs, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers to attend a brief education session that will focus on ways and methods to enhance participation of the eligible practice cohort in the national cancer screening programs (bowel, breast & cervical). For people who are never or under-screened, a brief conversation initiated by the health care provider may assuage uncertainty or fears about screening.

Topics covered:

– How to connect and use the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) in the practice management software
– Ordering bowel cancer screening test kits using the NCSR
– Examples of quality improvement activities and using Primary Sense reports for the same

Quality Improvement work in the cancer prevention and screening space involves establishing accurate cancer screening participation rates, identifying patients who are truly overdue for screening, ensuring an effective cancer screening reminder system and delivering patient-centred care to those at increased risk of non-participation in screening

Please join us for a snapshot of what your practice may wish to consider for increasing screening participation and/or QI activities.
