Local Practice Nurses are invited to a practical workshop on The First 2000 Days of life.

This workshop will include:

  • Performing a Baby Check
  • Blue Book Checks and Early Surveillance
  • The First 2000 Days – Impact on Lifelong Health
  • Using “Learn the Signs, Act Early in Practice

Registration and dinner from 6.30pm, training from 7.00pm – 9.00pm

Performing a Baby Check

  • Practical demonstration: Assessing growth, development, and overall health
  • Guided hands-on practice

Blue Book Checks & Early Surveillance

  • Overview of the Blue Book and its role in early childhood monitoring
  • Why early surveillance matters in developmental health
  • Case discussions: Identifying early signs of concern

The First 2000 Days – Impact on Lifelong Health

  • Understanding the critical development period
  • Long-term effects of early experiences
  • Interactive discussion: How healthcare providers can make a difference

Using “Learn the Signs. Act Early” in Practice

  • Recognizing developmental milestones & red flags
  • Applying screening tools in real-world scenarios
  • Case study exercise: Identifying concerns and making referrals
COST:
There is no cost for Practice Nurses within the SNHN region to attend this training
