The First 2000 Days – Conception to Age 5: Protecting Vulnerable Children

The 1-hour First 2000 Days online sessions provide GPs, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers with access to education from NSLHD clinicians and Child and Family Health Nurses, and case presentations on topics relevant to General Practice.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

General Practitioners, GP Registrars, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers with an interest in child, youth and family health, child development, maternal health and the First 2000 Days

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Identifying At-Risk Children: Recognize key indicators and risk factors for violence, abuse, and neglect in vulnerable children, and learn to identify signs of concern through clinical and contextual assessment
  • Navigating Referrals and Collaboration: Understand the available local services and professional networks, including who to contact for advice or to discuss specific cases of concern involving children
  • Ensuring Ongoing Support: Explore the follow-up and support mechanisms within the local community, including how GPs can assist families after referral to ensure the continuity of care and safeguard vulnerable children.
COST:
There is no cost for Health Professionals and their staff within the SNHN region to attend this training
