Sydney North Health Network is undertaking consultation with general practices to gain a deeper understanding of current GP workforce needs and training capacity in the region.

Some communities are currently or predicted to experience GP service shortfalls, due to changes in community needs or workforce. GP Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (WPP) consortiums have been established by the Commonwealth Government to provide advice and analysis on workforce needs and training capacity across each jurisdiction.

The national General Practice Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (GP WPP) Program will provide independent, evidence-based advice to inform the geographic distribution and placement of GP registrars to meet the community’s current and future GP workforce needs.

GPs, supervisors and practice staff are invited to share local insights and perspective on enablers and barriers experienced by the GP workforce.

This focus group is for general practices in the SNHN region local government areas – Northern Beaches, Hunters Hill, Lane Cove, North Sydney, Mosman, Willoughby, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai and Ryde.
