Paediatric Triage for Practice Nurses – June

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local Primary Care Practice Nurses to an informal networking meeting with other Nurses in the Northern Sydney area.

This event will include an update on how to effectively triage and manage paediatric patients in primary care.

SPEAKERS:

Dr Stephanie Teoh, MBBS, FRACGP, MyHealth Cremorne

Dr Teoh is a GP with over 20 years’ experience in both rural and urban practices throughout Australia and in Beijing, China. She has special interests in paediatrics and behavioural issues in children and young adults, including sleeping and settling strategies. She enjoys working with women’s health (including perinatal, fertility and menopause care), mental health, drug and alcohol concerns, travel medicine and complex care medicine.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Primary Care Practice Nurses working within the SNHN region

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Appropriately triage paediatric patients and identify the unwell child
  • Review common paediatric GP presentations and the role of the practice nurse in these issues
  • Use referral pathways for children needing further care in hospitals
COST:
No cost for Practice Nurses working within the SNHN region
