WEBINAR – Office Hysteroscopy including abnormal bleeding and fertility/recurrent miscarriage

Tue 29th July @ 7:00 pm

Office (awake) hysteroscopy has been available in Australia for decades, but GP referrals are rare as most GPs are unaware of the service, and do not even know that office hysteroscopy is a possibility! Dr Tan has been running an outpatient hysteroscopy clinic at RNSH for the past 3 years, as well as in her private rooms.

Traditional Hysteroscopy is performed under General Anaesthesia in an operating theatre, technological advances including specialised equipment and special techniques that can allow hysteroscopy to be performed without any anaesthesia.

Most indications for traditional hysteroscopy will apply to office hysteroscopy, such as assessment of abnormal bleeding, miscarriage, or infertility. It also includes removing pathology like polyps, small fibroids, adhesions, IUDs, retained products of conception etc

It is well tolerated, and patient feedback is overwhelmingly positive. There are major benefits in terms of cost savings (both private and public), time saving, and lower complications for the patients too.
