Grant opportunity for eligible residential aged care providers

Grant opportunity

The Department of Health and Aged Care has recently opened a competitive grant opportunity for the next phase of implementation of the Specialist Dementia Care Program, which seeks applications from eligible residential aged care providers located within the Northern Sydney Primary Health Network (PHN) region.

How and when to apply

Potential applicants can apply for this targeted competitive grant opportunity through GrantConnect – Grant Opportunity (GO 5304). Applications for funding under this grant round close 2 pm (AEST) Thursday 25 July 2024.

Background

The Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP) provides care for people who are exhibiting very severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, and are unable to be appropriately cared for by mainstream aged care services. The Australian Government is committed to establishing 35 SDCP units nationally across PHN regions. To date, 17 SDCP units are in operation around Australia across 14 PHN regions. Additional units will be established in 2024 and further grant rounds will be held for the remaining PHN regions later in 2024 and 2025.
