Exercise to Prevent Falls in Older People

FreeThrough access to online learning modules and a half-day practical workshop, Allied Health Professionals will be equipped with essential knowledge and skills to design safe and effective community falls prevention physical activity and exercise programs for older adults.
Topics include:
- The social and economic issues of falls
- Risk factors for falls
- Physiological consequences of ageing
- Maximising uptake and adherance to exercise programs
- Biomechanical and physiological principles of balance
- Effective falls prevention strategies.
Through structured learning tasks, participants will gain the ability to identify, develop, demonstrate, and implement evidence-based exercise interventions.
Participants are required to complete the pre-workshop online modules to attend this half-day face-to-face practical skills workshop.
CPD: Participants will be eligible to self report 6 hours; 3 hours pre-workshop online modules, and 3 hour practical face-to-face workshop
